Regional Arrangements help us “Connect the Global Dots”

It being obvious that each region of the planet has problems unique to itself, the United Nations recognized from the beginning that there would have to be “regional arrangements” to avoid unnecessary involvement of parties not involved in either the problems nor the solution.  When we look at how each regional arrangement has come to be, and where they view both their authority to organize, and their fealty, we can better connect the dots and understand who is in control of the direction of power on this planet.  (If the reader is interested, a web search on “regional arrangement” will reveal several thousand sites which confirm this concept, in every imaginable facet of regional and world government.)

Chapter VIII of the United Nations Charter deals with “regional arrangements.”  Article 52.1 says:

“Nothing in the present Charter precludes the existence of regional arrangements or agencies for dealing with such matters relating to the maintenance of international peace and security as are appropriate for regional action provided that such arrangements or agencies and their activities are consistent with the Purposes and Principles of the United Nations.”

There have been numerous regional arrangements implemented, and some have been terminated, over the past 57 years.  Some have been primarily military in nature, yet most have been to a greater or lesser extent political, and economic as well.  All are aimed at implementation of United Nations policy, or at least it is made clear in Chapter VIII that they must act in such a way that their activities and agendas are consistent with the purposes and principles of the United Nations.

NATO

The North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) is one of the most visible and successful regional arrangements as envisioned by the United Nations.  People scoff when we say that, until they read this statement from preamble of the NATO Charter:

The Parties to this Treaty reaffirm their faith in the purposes and principles of the Charter of the United Nations and their desire to live in peace with all peoples and all governments.

Article I of the NATO Charter states:

The Parties undertake, as set forth in the Charter of theUnited Nations, to settle any international dispute in which they may be involved by peaceful means in such a manner that international peace and security and justice are not endangered, and to refrain in their international relations from the threat or use of force in any manner inconsistent with the purposes of the United Nations.

Article VII of the NATO Charter states:

“This Treaty does not affect, and shall not be interpreted as affecting in any way the rights and obligations under the Charter of the Parties which are members of the United Nations, or the primary responsibility of the Security Council for the maintenance of international peace and security.”

There is much more, but this should suffice to connect the dots.  So, let us not be deluded by the nature of NATO, that we think it is not subject to, and does not recognize the DOMINION of the United Nations over it and the entire planet.  A more careful examination of the conduct of the American destruction of the “sovereign” government of Serbia will reveal that it was totally consistent with the NATO and United Nations principles, and the current trial of President Milosevic by the “World Court” in the Hague should make it clear that there is a coordinated effort that runs each of these “regional arrangements” which is not always on the surface.

OSCE

Another example is the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE), which says:

“The OSCE is the only regional arrangement in which all European countries, all Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) countries, the United States, and Canada participate. The organization now includes 55 member nations, with Japan acting as an observer nation (Yugoslavia is suspended). It has defined itself as a regional arrangement of the United Nations, as defined under chapter VIII of the UN Charter.”

European Union

The European Union is without a doubt the most successful “regional arrangement” of political and economic power put together by International Socialist Dreamers and Schemers since the end of World War II.  For those interested in an introduction to the EU, here is one of their own websites.

There are little “bumps” along the road as all these arrangements lead each nation to what Kofi Anan calls “the capital of the world,” New York City.  That was to be expected.  But more and more we can see the parallel from the Roman Empire when it was said, “All roads lead to Rome,” for today, virtually “all roads lead to New York City, and the United Nations.”

Having said that, we recognize that the real center of power is deliberately difficult to find.  The wrath of opponents of a given program or effort is often hurled against one agency or another, yet the real power brokers of the world sit confidently in their skyscrapers and divide the spoils of war and peace amongst themselves, and their families, in the same manner as the feudalistic lords of the Holy Roman Empire and of feudalistic overlords for the past thousand years.  The only thing that has changed is the sophistication and the technology.

Some nations have more power than others, or, as Orwell wrote, “Everyone is equal, but some are more equal than others.”  Those who pay more money have more influence than those who are on the taking end.  But the doctrine of “redistribution of the wealth” espoused by Marx and Lenin continues to be the most effective method of drawing puppet states into the web of control.  Easy credits and interest-free loans from the World Bank, the IMF, US-AID, and other wealth-dispensing agencies continues to snare those national leaders in a trap from which they cannot escape.  Once they swallow the bait, they discover the hook.  And then it is too late.  So they are offered “incentives” to not fight the system.  Sometimes those incentives are in the form of more aid to the nation, and at other times they come under the table as a private bank account in a far-away place.  The corruption of the local policeman is but a microcosm of the corruption of national leaders who have sought power and found that, instead of power, they are in the position of pimps to sell their nation into prostitution and create personal parachutes of safety for themselves and their own families, if they can.  Some succeed, some fail.  The New World Order grinds on, inexorably, chewing up some and ignoring the successful flight of others, but moving each year to more centralization of control.

The more stubborn places of resistance will wait while the soft spots are first secured.  This is good military strategy.  The Balkan states, for example, will continue to be played like the puppets they are, while the United States will simply have almost invisible, yet powerful webs spun around and over it, little by little, until some day they will be in the same situation as Gulliver who awoke to find himself imprisoned by the puny ropes of Lilliput.
