Four Pillars of False Church

This is my summary, requested by several friends, to define for them what I regard as the Four Pillars of False Church:

  • PARTY SPIRIT – dividing the Kingdom in ways not authorized by the Head of the Church. Also known, today, as “denominationalism”. I argue that no Believer should participate in Denominationalism, as it perpetrates Party Spirit, which is roundly condemned by the Apostle Paul and others. We reduce the process to one of commercial franchising. “You, too, can get one of these coveted franchises, for only $10,000,000 in debt, on prime real estate in your city! Complete training for your staff available. Trained managers ready to work for you!” (This a book, in and of itself.)
  • CLERGY/LAITY DISTINCTION – when certain men set themselves up as our “reverends” and make this distinction, in defiance of the Universal Priesthood of the Believer, they fail to recognize that we need no priests to approach God. This is clear cut in the high-church groups (Roman Catholic, Orthodox, Anglican), but just as real in the low-church groups (Methodist, Baptist, Bible Churches). This is a heresy, and we must not support it. (This is a book in and of itself.)
  • EDIFICE COMPLEX – the building as a holy location, becomes worshipped. I’m not opposed to roofs and walls, but I am opposed to the community of Believers owning specific buildings dedicated to worship. Living rooms will hold all the Christians in the world. And they can rent facilities, such as gymnasia and schools and warehouses and barns. Buildings are anchors. They destroy our inclination to “go ye into all the world”, and instead we think we are fulfilling the Great Commission by serving on the Building Committee or the Grounds Crew as volunteers. We work on Saturday morning mowing and pulling weeds, and we’ve done our duty to God. Don’t meet a single heathen in the process (unless it’s a lying, deceiving deacon who is there for business reasons). (This is a book, in and of itself.)
  • CHURCH/STATE PARTNERSHIP – In America, this means your religious franchise got a permit from the govenment. With that 501.c.3 status, they can issue receipts to taxpayers, helping them reduce their taxes. This subsidizes the members, in reality, but increases giving to the “religious business”. In return, the “church” reports giving to the government; pays taxes; obeys government hiring policies (so many sodomites, so many minorities, etc.); does not preach on subjects the government wants left alone; advocates war and enlisting and turns patriotism into obedience to God; etc. This is called, in Rev. 17, spiritual prostitution, when the Whore of Babylon becomes entangled with the Kings of the Earth. (This is a book, in and of itself.)
